Mental Health

Hello! I’m Elizabeth (she/they). I find joy in sharing my experiences with mental health and having autism.

Parenthood

I’m a stay-at-home twin parent. I’m continuously growing and learning for my children. Writing helps me reflect on my experiences, feel less isolated as a parent, and share what I’ve learned along the way.

House Spouse

I’m a spouse that works from the house. From creating to advocacy, my home is my primary workspace. And I live on a rural farm, so it gets interesting. And I have some fascinating adventures and hobbies… so its nice to have a safe place to write about it all.

  • Serenity in Solitude

    Serenity in Solitude

Is there serenity in solitude? Some would say so. Others fear there is not. Perhaps we should ask a rest stop rocking chair on a cold and rainy January day. There are normally happy families climbing on buses to whitewater raft, young couples playing mini-golf, and college kids eating at a breakfast bar… but on… Read more

  • A Chinese Palace of Summer

    A Chinese Palace of Summer

A serene oasis amidst the bustle of a thriving Beijing metropolis. The calm center of the city. A Palace of Summer that is serene year-round. Yellow Paint and a First Dance

A married couple’s first dance always gets a spot in the memory book. Most newlyweds have their first dance in front of an ice sculpture, wedding cake, or a beautifully decorated master table. A romantic setting for a perfect moment in time. My husband and I went in a different direction. We had our first… Read more

  • Chinese Ribbons Make a Minimalist

    Chinese Ribbons Make a Minimalist

There is no such thing as a free lunch, the glass is either half-empty or half-full, keep up with the Jonses’, the bigger the better… Embellished. Ornate. Lavish. Outlandish. It seems that there is no room left for the minimalist in today’s society… But in the middle of Beijing, China; the most unlikely place– I… Read more

  • Why I Started Blogging: The Messy Truth Behind the Uncustomary Housewife

Why I Started Blogging: The Messy Truth Behind the Uncustomary Housewife

Why do people blog? Why did I start blogging? This is my 1 Year Anniversary with blogging. I’ve never revealed why I started, but today I’m ready to share. Buddha sat down beneath a tree because he knew there was more to life. John Lennon wrote Imagine because he knew the world could do better.… Read more

  • Beijing Taxi Physics, A Refraction

    Beijing Taxi Physics, A Refraction

Catching a Beijing Taxi, it’s a simple refraction. An essential surface phenomenon. A transmission medium. I’m here, yet I need to be there. A governance to the law of conservation. Chinese energy and momentum. It’s basic physics… Simple, right? Just like catching a Beijing Taxi.   Read more
