Families and Fruit Tents

A Beijing Fruit Tent: During my time at the Beijing University of Agriculture I stayed on a street that reminded me a lot of an American festival. Families working, with griddles lined up side-by-side cooking various foods “on a stick”, fruit and drink tents, and the occasional bootleg DVD stand.

The mother and son, pictured below, belonged to a family that ran a fruit tent beside my hotel. I walked by this tent everyday for three weeks, occasionally buying from them– but it never failed, the family was always there, selling fruit and living their day-to-day lives.

The second photo is of the father of the family.
