I was tagged by Ross to complete the This or That Challenge. Twenty-two questions, and for each question I must make a decision; This or That.
Before I begin I want properly thank Ross for challenging me, and I want to plug his blog; Man vs Adulthood. His blog is full of awesomeness, and you should absolutely check it out; movie rankings and reviews, positivity, ridiculousness, and a lot of other truly fun stuff. You can also follow him on Twitter, and Instagram.
So, here I go: This or That?
Question 1: Shower in the morning or evening?
Evening. As a housewife, I don’t have to fix my hair or get dressed for a customary 9-to-5 job. I like showering in the evening; once my day is done. It’s a nice way to shut-down my mind after a long day of housewifing and farming.
Question 2: City center or close to nature?
Close to Nature. I live on a farm in Kentucky, so “close to nature” is actually an understatement.
Question 3: Bright colors or neutrals?
Neutrals. I love pastels and neutral colors. My home is an assortment of neutral colors; I find it calming and lovely. You could say the same for the exterior of my home; I recently painted the back porch a calming light blue – the color of Evan’s polo in Dear Evan Hansen, the Broadway Musical.
Question 4: Spring or Autumn?
Autumn. Autumn tends to be the calmest time of year for me; mentally and physically. The air is cool so I do a lot of reading outside. Everyone is excited about Halloween; which I find refreshing – it’s nice to see people excited about something. I also love horror films; so I take full advantage of horror marathons during the fall. It’s, normally, a calm and happy time of year. Plus, everything on the farm is so beautiful; the colors are spectacular.
Question 5: Mint or cinnamon?
Cinnamon. Jerry Seinfeld explained it best; “People love cinnamon. It should be on tables at restaurants along with salt and pepper. Anytime anyone says, ‘Oh this is so good. What’s in it?’ The answer invariably comes back, Cinnamon. Cinnamon. Again and again.”
Question 6: Planned or spontaneous?
Planned. I like adhering to a plan; a Prime Directive, as Spock (Star Trek) would say. Although, I allow room for spontaneity within planned events; scheduled-spontaneity, you could say.
Question 7: A movie at home or at the cinema?
Cinema. I absolutely love the cinema. There is something very beautiful, and calming, about viewing a film at the cinema. Different people – complete strangers – from different backgrounds, gather together in a room to enjoy a film; it’s truly beautiful. Plus, I feel an intense amount of excitement and anticipation leading up to a film premiere; its unmatched by anything else in the world. Going to the cinema will forever be one of my favorite things.
Question 8: Espresso or latte?
Latte. Actually, black coffee. But I’ve been known to enjoy a latte while on vacation.
Question 9: Hugs or kisses?
Hugs. I’m very socially anxious; which makes this question awkward. My husband’s mother actually jokes about this all the time. I’ve been married to her son for 5 years; and I’m still not a good hugger.
Question 10: Spicy or mild food?
Mild food. Actually, savory is my favorite. Savory pasta.
Question 11: Leather or lace?
Lace. My wedding dress was lace, and I was absolutely in love with it. It made me feel like a princess; but not the “stuck-in-the-castle-kind”, or “waiting-for-a-man-to-save-them-kind”, more like the “save-the-nation-valiantly-kind”.
Question 12: Overdressed or underdressed?
Overdressed. As in, way too many layers. It seems like I always have far to many clothing items with me. I take a jacket; even when I don’t need one. I always have a hat; either on my head or in my purse. My motto: I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Question 13: Adventure or comfort?
Adventure. I find adventure comforting. I love experiencing things and making memories. My husband and I go on a lot of adventures, and it’s something that I really love about our marriage; vacations, Comic Cons, Broadway shows, trying new things, going new places… it’s how lasting memories are made.
Question 14: TV series or movie?
Movie. Filmmaking is a beautiful art, and I’m in love with it. I find the process of it all very fascinating; script writing, story boards, score, cinematography, contingency, editing… It’s a fascinating and lovely art. To make a film, and send it out into the world; it an amazing and timeless thing.
Question 15: Rock or country music?
Country. But, more particularly; Southern Rock, which is sort-of a combination of the two options (rock and country). My favorite, however, is Broadway… which, more often than not, is very far away from country on the music-spectrum.
Question 16: Red or white wine?
Red Wine for drinking, mostly. White Wine for cooking, mostly. Although, I haven’t done either in quite some time.
Question 17: Working alone or in a team?
Team. Although, I normally find myself working alone. This is an ongoing issue with my life; I have a desire to work with others, a need to belong, but anxiety normally keeps me away. Plus, I’m a housewife, so I spend 80% of my time alone; not counting my pets.
Question 18: Swimming or sunbathing?
Swimming, for fitness; not recreation. Sunbathing, only if I can read; not for actual sun. I absolutely love sitting by the pond, in the fall, and reading a book.
Question 19: Fast food or sit-down restaurant?
Sit-Down Restaurant. I love eating in sit-down restaurants, especially when coffee is involved.
Question 20: Matched or mismatched socks?
Matched. Mostly because of sock texture. Mismatched socks can sometimes have different textures, even if they were from the same bundle. I like both of my feet to feel the same.
Question 21: Dancing or singing?
Singing; in the car. Dancing; with my dogs. I’m a horrible singer, but I find singing therapeutic. I listen to “Waving Through a Window”, from Dear Evan Hansen, and I sing it at the top of my lungs; its ridiculously fun and therapeutic. As for dancing; I throw “dance parties” with my dogs, constantly.
Question 22: Phone or the internet?
Phone. I use my phone to access the internet, so this question is a double-edged sword. However, I have music and films saved on my phone, and I can access them without the internet. So, phone.
