Money Buys Happiness: A Dog Tail

Nearly four years and I still don’t know the answer to the question, “Who Rescued Who?” I filled out the ASPCA paperwork, but I am convinced that my dog rescued me.

I am her owner, her parent, her companion; but for me, she has been much more… She was my study buddy in college, she helped me pick out the outfit I wore on my first date with my husband, she was the flower-girl at my wedding, she has been my crying shoulder when things went bad, and my “dance party” partner when things went good– she is my best friend.

People say, “money can’t buy happiness.” But I don’t completely believe that, because paying her adoption fee has given me happiness.
